Technical translation is all about knowing how an industry/device/process works and selecting the right terminology,
that for its recipients will be indistinguishable from texts originally created in their native language.
Ideally, the translator should have seen a particular or similar process/equipment with their own eyes (for example, while interpreting at a factory or on-site). Technical translation is also about reliability and repetition - terminology must be aligned not only within a single text, but also between them.
Technical translation from and into English may include, but is not limited to:
- instructions for use, installation and operation
- machinery and equipment specifications
- tender and project documents
- product and process sheets
