Simultaneous interpreting

TransAnglo Grzegorz Piatkowski

Simultaneous interpreting is one of the most advanced forms of translation, as it requires exceptional precision, knowledge of the topic and the ability to work under time pressure.

Interpreting in parallel with the speakersaves considerable time, but requires specialized equipment (soundproof booths, headsets for participants, microports).

Due to the nature and heavy workload for the interpreter, it requires two people in the booth, switching after an agreed time period (20 minutes is standard).

Simultaneous interpreting from and into English may include, but is not limited to:

  • conferences
  • lectures
  • congresses
  • seminars
