
Consecutive interpreting requires the ability to listen with understanding, focus attention, process information quickly and an excellent memory.
Translating a fragment of text after the speaker. The interpreter listens and (most often) takes notes, and then interprets into the target language during the breaks in the original speech. Note that this mode of translation doubles the duration of an event.
